• NEVER EVER AGAIN.

  firstly, about a week before we planned to go i reserved a table for 20 people, Got there on the day and they'd given the table i reserved to another group, so we had to sit on two separate tables or all squash onto 1 then when i asked to move, they pretended they couldnt understand me. then they were all speaking in chinese so we couldnt understand them and started pointing at us, which was very rude. The quality and variety of food has declined considerably, since we last went and the food was cold, and really not worth 11 pounds. The drinks were very highly priced, 2.4o for a pint of coke. They said they accepted student cards but when i showed them mine they said they didnt accept them sort of ones, but it was a standard student card which i could not understand!Then a friend came with us wasn't very well. she paid her money then went straight upstaris to the toilet and was in there all night throwing up, she came down when we were leaving and thought it was reasonable to ask for her money back because she'd not ate anything, to a student 11 pounds a lot of money to waste. But no they point blank refused. They all lied and said they'd saw her eating when they clearly hadn't because shed been in the toilet all night. After half an hour of arguing and two phone calls to the manager they still refused and we were forced to leave. I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE. THE FOOD IS CRAP AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY APPALLING!!

• Average food

  This is another of Sheffield's many Chinese buffet restaurants. They are all by and large the same and Jumbo is no different. They impose a limit of 90 minutes per customer/table, but we were only there for about an hour so that time limit rule was not tested. On the whole the place is not that big and I feel that they try to cram in too many tables to maximise the number of customers in at any one time.Food was ok. The usual fare of deep fried starters and the various chinese takeaway fares such as sweet and sour chicken etc etc. Price is reasonable for what is on offer.

  Just all you can eat and its deep fried, full of E numbers and perservatives. Not at all authentic. It makes one wonder whether any of the people who go there have discerning palletts

• Chinese with a smile

  We recently had my daughters 18th birthday meal here, the staff were so helpful they helped to decorate the tables before my daughter arrived they hid the cake and brought it out at the appropriate moment with the candles all lit , all the staff and customers sang Happy Birthday to her and she was given a free cocktail, they really went out of the way to make this special for herThe food was really nice and plentiful,plenty of choice for everyone.They also provided a highchair as soon as they saw my young son.I took a party of 14 to this meal and got a change from £80 which I thought was really good.he only thing I can think of is you only get 90 mins to eat your meal we were there over 2 hours and they were fine about it.

• Good food,good price

  Jumbos is and all you can eat chinese resturant and is located opposite the crucible theater.I've eaten here many times before a night out with friends and never been dissapionted.The selection of food is very good and food is hot,well cooked and the food display area is clean.Staff are quite friendly and are happy to bring drinks rather than getting up to the bar,they also have a 90 min eating time but this rules isnt set in stone and i have gone way over this limit before.Seating is a little cramped but the resturant on a whole isnt huge,dont let this put you off,the place does not get to full capacity and they also have seating upstairs.The turnover of customers is excellent and dinnertime specials are very good value.They also are happy to accept booking and partys,a friend of mine had a party there and they dont mind pulling seats together and brining out a cake for the birthday boy or girl.This resturant is much better than Number 1 buffet further down the road.
