About Us

Brief description

First Contact, Canine Activities Centre is a family run business and has been helping people understand their dogs and visa versa, for over two generations. First Contact offers a wide range of classes as well as one to one sessions which are tailored to suite the individual problems that may arise between people and their canine companions. All the trainers have hands on experience with a wide range of different situations and are very understanding and sympathetic. The methods we use are predominantly positive reward based as well as teaching people how canines communicate and how to communicate back to them. First Contact will not give up on individuals, we will endeavour to find a method that suites and works for both human and canine.

First contact dog training

We first started taking our dog to first contact dog training in October 2008, at that time she was 10 months old. She is a rescue dog that has had 2 previous homes, and didn't like any other dog or human come to that! Baggage? What baggage!!! So, as a huge fan of German Shepherds,and second/third chances, we looked up a local dog trainer, Lucy Green of First Contact, and wow-what a difference in our dog. She actually has doggy friends now, and gets along fine with other people. We are continuing to take our dog to training, as not only is Ms Green a great, friendly and knowledgeable instructor, but the venue is more than adequate and the other folk that attend are friendly too. Our dog is going from strength to strength and we owe First Contact a huge thank you, for helping turn our rescue dog into a calmer, happier pet. I would certainly reccommend them to any one.
