we put our Dog Winnie 3 cats and 1 cat that had just had 4 kittens that was only 10days old here for 17days. Winnie needed drops in her ears and the kittens needed looking after with them being so young. They did a brilliant job and winnies ears had all cleared up by the time we picked her up. I wasn't exspecting to see all 4 kittens as one of them was the runt of the litter and very weak and small, but all 4 was there fit and well and looking loverly as ever. staff are more than friendly and always more than willing to show us round the kennels and cattery. we have been to other kennels and Winnie always came back a quiet dog but since taking her here she always comes back her giddy fresh self and full of life. if you are thinking of putting your dog or cat in the kennels or cattery take them here and go away knowing they are well looked after. we use them when we go away for long weekends and main holidays and have peice of mind knowing they are going to be fine.

I have two young dogs Izzy black lab. and Lola golden retriever I had never used a kennel before so visited several kennels unannounced to view, Jaycliffe was the only one I went too that seemed to be actively walking and playing with the dogs so I booked them in immediately, even though they where also the most expensive I thought the quality of care was worth it, my dogs have just returned from there second visit and will be returning again soon!

  • 10 Only place i have been happy to leave my dogs

My oldest toby had been in several kennels prior to jaycliffe and always came home with kennel cough, upset stomach and severe weight loss. This is the only kennel toby has ever come out clean and wagging his tail when we came to collect him, often the kennel staff never knew when we we coming. We then got ozzy who is a very scared rescue dog and they looked after him fantastic, he came out clean, wagging his tail and now when we drop them off they have waggy tails for the amazingly friendly staff and never look back at us. Leaving my dogs at jaycliffe gives me real piece of mind when i go on holiday. The staff are always polite and honest about how my dogs are and do not mind me ringing everyday to see how they are. Thank you everyone at jaycliffe for all your outstanding care for my little dogs.

All I can say is that I wouldn't trust anyone else to cut my poppy's (standard poodle) hair. Staff are both friendly and excellent at their work. Poppy loves to see them and they make such a fuss. I can't imagine why anyone would have anything bad to say about them. No business that was doign anything bad would have open windows to allow all passers by to see them working.. Absolutely amazing!

  • 10 More than satisfied

I have know the owner of Jaycliffe now for many years. Karen is a very knowledgeable lady with dogs and has bought this business during 2007 when it needed LOTS doing to it that were neglected by the previous owners. There are modernisations going on with all the kennels and the catteries - but it all takes time. However, ALL the girls employed there are very kind to the dogs and they do all get walked at least twice a day. Any dog that goes into kennels goes into somewhere thats got a concrete floor - no carpets as they do at home, they are being looked after by strangers (no matter how nice they are), and they are in a very strange environment. For any dog to be 'happy' is a miracle. Some dogs will loose weight because they are unhappy that they have been left - others are fine and just get on with whats happening. What I can say is that if I were going on holiday and I put my dogs into boarding kennels - I would be MORE than happy to leave all of them at Jaycliffe in the care of Karen and her staff.

  • 10 Fab Break!!!

I went away for 4 days and left my German Sheppard who sometimes suffers with seperation anxiety, I told the owner Karen about this and was assured that Rueben would be fine. I left him with his bed, collar and lead and all were returned to me clean and in the same condition i had left them. I also found Rueben was more than happy and would definately leave him here again. Thank You for taking such good care of my boy.

  • 2 Absolutely Horrified

We left our dog here for 8 days, he returned 4KG's lighter which is a 5th of his body weight. He also had serious urine burns to his feet to the extent that the vet had to shave his paws, they were infected with pus oozing from them and were bleeding. It was the worst the vet had seen in 10 years. He has needed extensive medication and the psychological scarring will take ages to heal (if ever). We have a vets report and it is clear that he had been left standing in his own urine in the kennels for several days, the RSPCA and the local Council have also been informed. We were informed they had used a whitening shampoo on him to remove the urine stains, but if they bothered to clean them out properly there woudl be no need for this. We would NEVER use them or recommend them to anyone.
