Your MOT is not only a requirement but, it is also imperative that you ensure your vehicle is safe, roadworthy and legal. At the Birdwell MOT Centre, we aim to take the pain out of this annual chore. Whether you're looking to sell your car, have purchased a new one and need it checking out or if you just need an MOT test to keep on the road, we're here to help!
The Birdwell MOT Centre (Jumbo Self Drive) has been providing MOT Testing in Birdwell, Barnsley for 4 years. Our business is in testing cars. We are primarily a test centre and not a garage carrying out a few MOTs as part of a greater business model. As a result, we pride ourselves in carrying out a "fair" test without pushing for additional servicing and repairs.
Our customer base ranges from general public to car dealers and independent motor mechanics. We charge a flat rate fee of £35 (retests within 10 days are free of charge) - no extras, no surcharges and no additions. Motor traders can benefit from volume discounts - subject to business levels.
DVSA have extended the MOT Test expiry dates on vehicles due to be presented for test ON OR AFTER 30th March 2020, by 6 months.
Why do we at Birdwell MOT Centre, Barnsley recommending you still have an MOT? There are 3 reasons...
1. Your test may have expired before 30th March 2020!
This may seem unlikely, but MOT tests often get forgotten! Almost every week we test vehicles with previously expired tests.
2. Your vehicle may be unsafe!
A large proportion of vehicles tested have faults. Some of these faults are dangerous and potentially fatal. Furthermore, many vehicles are not looked at - tyre condition isn't checked, bulbs are not replaced, brakes are not serviced... As a result, leaving a vehicle to uncheck for 18 months could endanger your life and the lives of others!
3. You may struggle to get a test on the revised due date! We don't yet know what DVSA will do. However, it is likely that there will be a time when "normal" and "extended" MOT tests will need to be done at the same time. This will lead to inevitable congestion in our diary!
Remember, it is an offence to drive an unsafe vehicle on UK roads and you may face a £2,500 fine. Don't risk the fine or your safety! Book an MOT Test today.
If you don't need to drive, or if you are self-isolating/ shielding, don't go out just to get an MOT - the revised law is to protect you!
If you DO need to drive STAY SAFE! Keep Barnsley's road safe! Get an MOT!!!
